Cornerstone Presbyterian Church is going to buy the Clements Church property. Very happy to post this news to the Blossomwood neighborhood! It’s been an interesting time since the sale of this property was first announced in mid-January. Much has happened since then. Assuming Cornerstone’s plans work out, we will soon have new neighbors to welcome to our neighborhood. Get ready to extend a warm Blossomwood welcome.
Here is the letter from the senior pastor of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church about their nearly-completed purchase of the Clements Church property:
Dear Blossomwood Neighbors,
My name is Wilson Shirley and I am the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Presbyterian
Church here in Huntsville. I am happy to announce to you that Cornerstone is in the
process of purchasing the former Clements and Mountain View Baptist Church property
located at 1413 McClung Avenue.
Cornerstone has been around since 2012 and began meeting downtown. Since that time
we have moved to various locations with the hope of eventually being located in the
downtown footprint. In 2018, we purchased property on Meridian Street with the plan
of building a new facility. Due to rising construction costs and other factors, we have
decided not to move forward with building at this time.
In the meantime, the Lord recently did something unexpected when the opportunity
came along for Cornerstone to purchase the property on McClung Avenue. We have
always had a desire to be in this area, so now we are grateful to have this opportunity.
We are excited to be relocating to this property and neighborhood, which is centrally
located for our membership. Many of your neighbors in Blossomwood are members of
Cornerstone so this very much feels like home. We hope to be a blessing to you and the
neighborhood by serving you and the community.
Our plan is to complete some modifications to the building over the summer and occupy
the property fully by August of this year.

questions, you can contact office@cornerstone-pres.org. We would love to answer your
questions .
Finally, if you do not have a church home, we would love for you to come and visit. Our
mission is to be a community of Christ’s followers who worship, grow and serve
together to glorify God in Huntsville and throughout the world. We have worship
services on Sundays at 8:30am and 11:00am with Sunday School at 9:45am. We look
forward to being your neighbor and friends.
To God alone be glory,
Wilson A. Shirley, Senior Pastor
